About the Event

We are proud to announce Iteron, an online computational event dedicated to the spirit of scientific inquiry. Inspired by Robert Axelrod's famous Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma tournaments, Iteron invites participants to explore the evolution of cooperation and conflict through code.

The event is purely for the sake of science, aiming to analyze how algorithmic strategies interact in a competitive environment.

Rules and Regulations

Technicality

All strategies must be submitted in Python only. Participants are required to strictly adhere to the specific input and output methods described in the official rulebook.

LLM Policy

The use of Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or GitHub Copilot is strictly prohibited for strategy submission.

Submissions

Each Strategy must only be submitted through the official institute Email Id.

Robustness Testing

The entire tournament will be conducted across five different payoff matrices. This tests whether a strategy is generally successful or merely optimized for a specific set of incentives.

Anti Collusion

Submission of multiple coordinated or “kingsmaker” strategies is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification of all related entries.
