The Algorithmic Trading Challenge is a competitive quantitative reasoning event centered on decision-making under uncertainty in a controlled market environment. Participants design algorithms that infer hidden structure from noisy information and make consistent, profit-maximizing decisions over time. Every participant interacts with the same underlying market process as everyone else to ensure fairness.
Participants are tasked with analyzing market and environmental data to derive variables and optimize for maximum profitability. The tournament consists of two stages. During the Development Phase, participants will utilize the provided data to build bots and formulate strategies. In the Deployment Phase, the Market is opened and the bots will be deployed. The underlying market-generating processes and hidden parameters remain undisclosed.
Fixed initial capital is assigned to all participants.
No use of machine learning or neural networks. The strategy has to be explained mathematically, where every parameter is controlled.
No changes can be made to the bot in the second phase of the tournament.
The use of LLM's such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot is strictly prohibited during the duration of the tournament.
Participants must bring their own laptops and chargers. Internet access will be provided.
